This or the XGMI horizon ultra 2023 with dolby vision? tempted to get this with the full google tv. Was going to wait for the 2024 horizon ultra but heard its going to be around $2500-3,000 and this is more my price point

Love the DIY for cheaper aspect as I cannot stand the thousands upon thousands of videos for home theater showing off HT equipment for upwards of $50,000. None of that is worth the price. It is all made or parts sourced from China that can be had for a fraction of the cost, but UA-camrs love to flex with fancy crap and so do the 1%.

I am a bit inapt at various meter units are used but I’m really curious how the words relate to the sound and if a bigger space would make a difference in quality of sound. I know it’s impossible to share that unless people on our side have really good sound systems, but I enjoyed the video except I would’ve loved to hear the speakers.

This kit was $150 for a long time. Im sad i never got it then. They also had tower kits as well.

Just by looks alone it doesn't seem like it would be bad. Looks fairly well made. The midrange is interesting it seems to be built like a woofer like it may hit some lower frequencies that normal mids in 3 way speakers wont. Ports are also always nice especially to get the best out of any bass. I feel like these aren't horrible.

Worked with Brian a few months ago for my projector set up. Formovie with 120” screen. Best purchase I ever made, regular TVs are a joke compared to projectors when it comes to a man cave. 100% recommend him and his website.

This is the FIRST time I've seen anyone use Dayton's new flat Res-Core woofers! They look "Tang-Band-esque" to me and that's not a bad thing. Your use as slim desktop speakers seems like a good fit for their size. I'm looking forward to see what they can do once properly DSP'd. Yahoo! Building some speakers!!!

! For Those who live in Reality Land and don't have Thousands to spend on a Pro Laser device or 3 D Printers etc, Just Get some 4x6 or 5x7 or 6x9 speakers and an Old School equalizer Booster with the Spectrum Analyzer Led's and Wire it up to a 3.5mm Jack to plug in to the Computer and There you GO, The BEST sounding computer Speakers Ever. 5*7 or 6*9 will have more bass and they beat LOGITECH Speakers by Miles. Plus You will have 4 Channels to work with so you can Even add a Diy Powered Sub for even More bass.

why don't you use any treble? all frequencies with a wavelength much shorter than the speaker, you get directional sound . You have to sit directly in front of the speaker to get full frequency sound. you don't have to move much before the brighter treble disappears. Doesn't help if you uses DSP.

Those resonado drivers were cool, but unfortunately, the company that designed them closed down that arm of the business, I don't think there will be any refinement in the future which they do need in my opinion.

I can bet that shop smelled amazing with the cedar going through the laser .. Awesome stuff.! .. ... If I were going to make / share an Idea for V2 .... make the baffle a standard ply finish ..and then cut a baffle / hardware cover for the outer layer... It'll cover the flange for the drivers .. and could be fitted with some embedder magnets. ( maybe even with a nice curved front ) =)

Ok. So lets say "100 watts at 8-ohm and 1% THD". At what frequency is it doing this? 1khz? All these amp ratings remind me of el cheapo Pyramid car audio amps of the 80's and 90's where they did 900 watts for $79. There's a point where you have to call BS on them. What if they are tested/rated like a "real amplifier" company where it's from 20hz to 20khz @ 8-ohm with less than 0.xxx% THD, etc? How bad do these fall on their face?
